If you or anyone you know that have actually suffered from panic or anxiety attacks knows how nerve racking they can be. They can be really scarey as well. This makes knowing the techniques on how to stop an attack a really good skill to have. Most people that have these issues are not as well informed and think they ,themselves can not control panic attacks. Once you learn the techniques on how to stop panic attacks they wont be as bad or scary.
We have a mechanism inside us called “fight or flight”. When something goes wrong with that part of us we then have panic attacks. The adrenaline are body releases comes when we are facing danger. The reason is because it senses trouble so we could either stay or flee quickly. When you are in this type of situation you really don’t know or don’t realize the affect the adrenaline causes until you become calm and the adrenaline wears off.
Now think of when you just get a shot of adrenaline out of the blue when an attack is coming on. This makes them more terrifying to deal with.
How To Stop Panic Attacks In 3 Steps:
1.)Just Breathe:
The main thing you want to do during an attack is try to do your best and stay calm and focused. Control your breaths. The symptoms you get when an attack is coming on is because of the direct shot of adrenaline. Think about taking slow long deep and controlled breaths. What you will be doing is calming the body down and it gets rid of some of the symptoms that you are dealing with.
2.)Coach Yourself Into Being Upbeat & Positive:
You feel almost an impending doom when you are suffering from a panic attack. You fear a certain thing and get overwhelmed and emotional. By coaching yourself into being positive your comfort yourself and calm yourself down to relieve some of the fear. Your brain will allow you to feel either positive or negative about any given thing. By telling yourself that everything will be OK you turning a negative thought process which caused the attack into a positive thought process. This is almost like a natural antidote for panic attacks.
3.)Identify The Issue To Work Through It:
When you change your thought process to a positive one you have to detect and see what actually triggered your attack. Some reasons they are cause are because of
-Irrational Thinking
-Illogical Fears
By taking a look at the picture of whats going on with you, you will realize the things you are worrying about are as bad as they first appeared.
